Following the release of their online mastering platform last year for subscribers of their All Access Pass, Slate Digital have now made VIRTU available for public access as well as introducing some new features. We have the details…
VIRTU is designed to make it easy for users of all experience levels to achieve a professional, polished sound with the help of curated Style profiles, a user-friendly interface, and a newly added Reference Track feature.
How Does It Work?
The workflow requires users to upload their final bounce of a stereo WAV file mix, select the style profile that best fits the track, and pick a loudness target from a choice of three. There’s the option to adjust some more advanced controls, like the frequency balance, compression and stereo width of the master and the new update introduces the ability to upload a reference track that will influence the overall EQ and loudness processing.
Once the desired settings have been selected, 15 seconds of mastered audio can be previewed before committing to processing the full track. Once the track is mastered, it will live in VIRTU’s cloud library for 30 days and can be downloaded, rated, and remastered for the duration of time it exists in the library. After 30 days, the master will disappear.
How Much Does It Cost?
All Access Pass subscribers get three free masters per month. Non-subscribers can take advantage of two complimentary masters upon sign-up.
All Access Pass members can purchase additional credits for $2.99 per master (plus tax), while non-subscribing users can purchase extra credits for $4.99 each (plus tax).
