Free To Use Sounds All In One Bundle - Over 2TB Of Sound Effects For $25

Ever since Mike came across Free To Use Sounds when researching free sound effects for the community, he has been on their mailing list. Recently, Mike learned about their All In One Bundle of sound effects, and although it’s not free, it isn’t far off, especially when you consider what you get in the bundle we thought you might want to check it out.

More About Free To Use Sounds

There is a great site called Free To Use Sounds run by Marcel and Libby. They travel full-time around the world recording sounds, collaborating with professional sound libraries like Soundly, Soundsnap, Epidemic Sound, A Sound Effect, and Zapsplat and companies like Zoom, LOM Label, and K-Tek.

It all began in 2017 in Siem Reap, Cambodia. With an idea and a Zoom H1 recorder in hand, we set out to archive our very first sound recording.

“We weren’t sure what we would do with the audio track of ‘Cambodian Women Sifting Gravel at a Construction Site’, but we figured someone would appreciate it.”

Nearly 8 years, over 30 countries, and thousands of recordings later, they are still out exploring. Marcel and Libby consider themselves slow travellers Rather than move and record quickly, they choose to take their time and immerse themselves in the cultures and regions of the countries they visit. As a result you will find that their recordings include a range of sounds of daily life and soundscapes.

“To us, every sound we record is a way to archive a location and its authenticity.”

Their aim was to create Free to Use Sounds as a source for others to use. Over the years, their royalty-free recordings and sound effects from their All in One Bundle have been used by people just starting out in sound through to professional sound designers working in the film, music, or video game industry all over the world.

What Is In The All In One Bundle From Free To Use Sounds

As I mentioned in the introduction, I first came across Marcel, Libby, and Free To Use Sounds when researching free sound effects for articles here on Production Expert. The most recent one is from last year, The Best Sources for Free SFX Libraries 2023.

Ever since then, having signed up for their emails, they have kept their subscribers up to date with their travels and their sound effects libraries. In May 2024, they shared news of their birthday All In One Bundle sale. I was hooked and bought the bundle, which I am still downloading as it is huge.

The All In One Bundle consists of over 2,300 GB & 12,700 recordings from more than thirty destinations all over the world, which they have recorded over the last 7 years and continues to grow. This is what you get…

  • Lifetime Updates: Enjoy our expanding library with free, consistent updates, no subscription required. You will get access to all their new libraries as they are released.

  • Royalty-Free Usage: Enjoy the freedom to use their sounds in almost any of your projects without needing to give credit. If you're a sound designer, sound engineer, music producer looking to recreate and sell sounds, their All in One Bundle offers you this flexibility as well. Check out their license agreement for more details.

  • Dynamic Sound Formats: The bundle includes mono, stereo, DMS, binaural, 5.1, and VR recordings recorded in with 24bit of 32bit and from 96kHz to 192 kHz.

  • Authenticity: Every sound in the All In One Bundle has been recorded by Marcel or Libby. Intended to give you peace of mind that all sounds in this bundle are completely authentic (and high-quality).

  • UCS Metadata Integration: The All In One Bundle now includes UCS meta tags designed to help you locate any sound with the enhanced metadata and file path system.

Some Of The Tech They Use To Record Their Sound Effects Libraries

Marcel and Libby use Schoeps CCM 4 and CCM 8 microphones, nestled safely within a Rycote Cyclone blimp, to capture their DMS (Double MS) recordings using the Sound Devices Mix Pre 6ii and Mix Pre 10ii.

With the free Schoeps Double MS plugin, you can decode these DMS recordings into a stereo or surround mix in real time to suit your project.

If you need to mix audio for 360 videos, 3D installations or VR game projects? They are currently using the Rode NTSF-1 to record in Ambisonics.

They have also purchased the DPA 5100 Surround Microphone to deliver 5.1 surround sound recordings that don’t need any decoding.

What We Think Of The All In One Bundle

I have to say I am really impressed with the range and quality of the sound effects from Marcel and Libby. Ever since I started downloading the 12,700 files, I have thinking of sharing this amazing find with you all. This deal is a no-brainer if you use sound effects in your work. Even if you don’t use them all, there will be sound effects that will be just what you need at some point in the future, and at this price, you won’t need many of these to make the investment worthwhile even if you do have to buy another drive as I did.

How To Get The All In One Bundle From Free To Use Sounds

You might be wondering by now how much you will need to pay to get 2.3TB of sound effects? The price is very much in the spirit of their free sound effects. The price is just $25. What is not to like? However you may need to buy a new hard drive to fit them all on. I certainly did as my Sound Effects SSD with over 50,000 sounds only has around 200GB of space left.

Please note that in the spirit of full disclosure if you use the button below to buy the All In One Bundle we will receive a small commission for each sale.

If you can’t afford $25 then do check out our 2023 article covering the free sound effects available in 2023.
