Audiomovers Omnibus 3.0 Audio Device Routing Tool Announced

Audiomovers, the makers behind audio solutions including LISTENTO and INJECT, have announced a major update to their Omnibus audio routing software, we have the details…

Omnibus operates like a virtual patchbay for Mac allowing you to easily route audio between any audio device (both virtual and hardware) thereby avoiding the previously complicated workarounds. Sporting a revamped UI, the v3.0 update offers new networking options including support for AVB and NDI, meaning Omnibus 3.0 can communicate with nearby Omnibus instances running on other machines via one of the networking protocols, simplifying wireless audio routing between devices and machines.

Improvements to existing features can also be found granting far greater flexibility when routing audio. Such developments include a flexible virtual device channel count meaning each Omnibus virtual device can have anything from 2 to 256 channels, depending on preference and use case. What’s more, engineers can now choose to add or remove only the desired hardware or virtual drivers from both the list and the routing matrix. Audio can be captured from specific applications (as well as audio devices), regardless of their audio device output routing, and routed as required. This means engineers can route application audio separately or combine audio sources.

Other improvements and new features include sample rate conversion and smart buffer tracking, MIDI program change support for snapshots, and Stream Deck support including the Stream Deck plugin.

Omnibus 3.0 is set to be available in Q2 with upgrade options for existing Omnibus 2.0 owners. In the meantime, you can try the existing version for free from the Audiomovers website.
