Coming Soon Der Kompressor by Tegeler Audio Manufaktur

We have received word from Tegeler Audio Manufaktur that their new “Der Kompressor” is coming soon.

This promises to be a very clever Vari Mu compressor with 11-modes.  The unit is controllable  both on the unit itself and via a software plugin thanks to the unit’s motor potentiometers.

Der Kompressor Features

  • Stereo device
  • Transformer balanced inputs and output
  • Frequency response: 20 – 40,000 Hz +/- 1.5dB
  • Side-chain filter
  • Plug in to be available as AAX, VST, AU (all 32/64 bit) and also as a webpage

The Motor Control

Every control is fitted with a servo-motor which can set the potentiometer in any position.
You can make adjustments whenever you want – a slip clutch combined with software always give your direct control priority. If you don’t need all these modern network-based tools then the Schwerkraftmaschine can be completely controlled from the front plate, where it behaves like any other piece of hardware.

The Network Connection

When you connect the Schwerkraftmaschine to your network, it acquires the settings it needs automatically via DCHP. Then you can control the Schwerkraftmaschine from anywhere in the world – be that Sydney, L.A., or even Berlin. Read more about this on Tegeler Audio Manufaktur's website here

Is This A Trend Starting?

We've seen a similar thing with Exponential Audio Briscati M7 controller plug-in  It's technologies like this that help bridge the gap even more between working conveniently "in the box" whilst using physical hardware units. So are we seeing a possible trend start to take hold?  What do you think?
